Cyber4noobs

Welcome!!

Hi, my name is Jason, and I created this site for all those cyber noobs like myself. I'm in my 40s and decided to switch careers from an intelligence analyst to cybersecurity. Like most people, I turned to google to begin my research on what it would take to crack into this exciting world they call cybersecurity. I was not prepared for the amount of information and resources available at the click of a button. It can be overwhelming at first. You see words like Python, Buffer Overflow, Phishing, and Linux; you don't even know what they are.

Then there is the world of certifications. These certs tell potential employers that you have a grasp of the fundamentals. Deciding what certifications to take can be stressful as well. Do I choose Pentest+ over CEH? Do I start with CompTIA's A+ or Network+? Also, there are so many choices for what learning platform to choose. Furthermore, the costs associated with each cert significantly vary in price; for example, Pent+ is $499, and the CEH is $1,199.00. Anyone new to this field can quickly become overwhelmed with where to begin.

I created cyber4noobs to provide the resources and tools I have found along my journey to becoming a cybersecurity analyst. I hope these tools and resources can help others in starting their cyber careers and make the learning path a little easier.
